
Kimberley McMann-Taylor
Kimberley McMann, originally from Riverview, New Brunswick, is a
sought after conductor, soloist, clinician, adjudicator, and teacher,
currently residing in Edmonton, Alberta. She completed her Bachelor of
Music in Vocal Performance in 2009 at Dalhousie University, and during
her time there, she was a two-time concerto night competition winner, a
regular soloist with the Dalhousie University Chamber Choir, and made
her professional opera debut with Opera Nova Scotia as “Amahl” in
three seasons of Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors.
Kimberley continued her studies at the University of Alberta, and
completed a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting in 2011, under the
supervision of Dr. Leonard Ratzlaff and Dr. Debra Cairns.
Since leaving University, she has gone on to become the conductor of
The Edmonton Metropolitan Orchestra, Director of Music at McDougall
United Church, Artistic Director of the Organics Vocal Ensemble, Voice
Teacher with St. Michael’s Choir School (Toronto, online faculty) as well
as an alternate with Pro Coro Canada, a regular performer with
Edmonton Opera and Pop Goes the Opera, and Musical Director for
theatre companies such as Trinity Players, Two One Way Tickets to
Broadway, and Concordia University of Edmonton Theatre Department.
Kimberley has 2 children- James, 11, and Gemma, 8, and has been
married to Sean for almost 15 years. As a family they enjoy board
games, tennis matches, and mountain getaways!
